The Sauk County DNR Foresters can provide the following free assistance:

Basic information on forest conditions and needs
Written forest management plans
Tree planting plans for windbreaks, wildlife, timber production, erosion control and other purposes
Timber sale recommendations
Wildlife habitat improvement recommendations
Erosion control advice on forest roads and trails
Forest insect and disease information
Managed Forest Law (MFL) information and applications. A property tax reduction program on forest land in return for long term forest management
Assistance with State and Federal Cost Sharing Programs for practices such as tree planting and timber stand improvements
