Local assistance is available to make your tree planting a success!
The Sauk County DNR Foresters can provide the following free assistance:
- Basic information on forest conditions and needs
- Written forest management plans
- Tree planting plans for windbreaks, wildlife, timber production, erosion control and other purposes
- Timber sale recommendations
- Wildlife habitat improvement recommendations
- Erosion control advice on forest roads and trails
- Forest insect and disease information
- Managed Forest Law (MFL) information and applications. A property tax reduction program on forest land in return for long term forest management
- Assistance with State and Federal Cost Sharing Programs for practices such as tree planting and timber stand improvements
