Who Can Help My Sick Tree?

The Sauk County DNR Foresters can evaluate insect and disease problems in rural forest settings of 10-acres or more. They are located in Room 31of the Baraboo Civic Center, 124 2nd St., Baraboo.  Phones: 608-235-5685 (Nick Morehouse); 608-604-4846 (Paul Kloppenburg); 608-723-9007 (Allen King).

 

Extension Sauk County can give you an initial determination of a tree problem in a yard or on small acreage.  They are located in Room 334 of the Sauk County West Square Building.  Contact Tim Ripp at 355-3250 or trripp@wisc.edu.

The UW-Madison Department of Plant Pathology Plant Disease Diagnostics Clinic can test for some foliage diseases for a fee: Contact them at 608-262-2863.

The UW-Madison Department of Entomology Insect Diagnostic Lab can identify insect samples. Contact them at 608-262-6510.

The Wisconsin DNR Division of Forestry can provide information regarding forest health and information on a variety of insect and disease websites.
